SCA offers Qantas points as reward for advertising across its regional network

Staff Writer

Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) is encouraging small to medium enterprises to ‘Advertise Local’ across its regional network with the offer of Qantas Points for every dollar spent.

The rewards program runs from November 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021. The terms and conditions note that minimum expenditure and minimum advertising rates apply in each location. For new clients, the minimum spend is $53,500. For existing clients, it must be 10% more than they spent over the prior year.

SMEs that join Qantas Business Rewards and advertise with their regional Hit or Triple M station will receive one Qantas Point for evert $1 spent. If the advertiser is part of the SCA Access Plus program, they will receive 1.5 points per $1 spent.

SCA’s head of regional strategy and development for sales, Joel Feuerherdt, said the company is thrilled to be working with Qantas Business Rewards to bring more value to its customers.

“As a media business operating in local communities, we are committed to supporting local business,” he added.

“Our own research has found that local advertising works and grows business. Radio’s immediacy and engagement makes it the perfect place to advertise.”

SCA’s research also indicates its audiences are passionate about supporting local businesses, with 93% agreeing that locally owned businesses are an essential part of the community, and more than eight in 10 saying they feel proud to purchase from locally owned businesses.

To get the word out about the Boost Your Business campaign, SCA will rely on its owned assets including TV, radio and audio ads, as well as social posts, YouTube and retail out-of-home.

“As a media business operating in local communities, we are committed to supporting local business”.

Just because you have a transmission tower in town, doesn’t mean you are a part of the community. That would require you to re-hire all of the staff you let go, resource each market and you know invest instead of cut.

But sure, add Soundcloud, 2CH, Sonos and QANTAS points to your “toolbox”, if you can’t sell your audience to an advertiser, you may as well bribe them.

I must have a couple of answers… I made budget for the quarter 16 days ago.

No steak knives. No toasters. Just results.

Thanks though.

Incentive is a lunch, giving a buyer a credit equal to cash for their own personal gain… Isn’t.
