The new Australian Singles Report

The new Australian Singles Report is the first in Australia to combine radio and streaming plays , digital sales and video plays. Every Monday morning at 9am The Music Network’s new Australian Singles Report will feature on Radio Today.

Our new Radio Wrap features – The Top 20, Most Added, New To Radio and new Nova, Hit, KIIS,  triple J and Triple M Top Spins of the Week.

Clean Bandit returns to #1 with Rockabye ft. Sean Paul & Anne-Marie after being knocked off the top spot by Neiked’s Sexual at the end of last year. The group’s last #1 was their 2014 hit Rather Be ft. Jess Glynne, which was also the #1 Single of the Year in TMN’s Year End Chart. Support for Rockabye is starting to wane howerver, with none of the major commercial networks accumulating enough airtime for the track to feature in their top spins list.

ZAYN & Taylor Swift’s new cut I Don’t Wanna Live Forever makes some serious gains on its second week in the Hot 100, now at #3 from #31. At this rate, the track is well on its way to #1.  I Don’t Wanna Live Forever is also making waves on the Hot 100 Heatseekers chart where it placed at #3. Topping the chart is PNAU’s now undeniable crossover hit Chameleon. The track shot to #20 from #82 and features in the Top 5 of triple j, Hit and Nova’s spins charts – that’s adoption across alternative AND commercial radio.

Big Sean tops the Breakers chart with Bounce Back and is tailed by Skegss at #2 with Spring Has Sprung which also comes in at #3 on triple j’s spins chart.  Starley’s Call On Me is experiencing plenty of love on commercial, and currently sits at #1 in Nova Network’s spins chart while ranking at #2 for Hit. Triple M are still right behind Bernard Fanning on Reckless, while triple j are putting most of their support behind Thundamentals’ Think About It.

After The Weeknd’s brief stint at the top of the Artist Top 50 towards the end of last year, Clean Bandit’s Rockabye ft. Sean Paul & Anne-Marie reclaims the top spot in 2017. Now on its eighth week in the chart, Rockabye has some serious competition in the form of ZAYN & Taylor Swift’s powerful collaboration I Don’t Wanna Live Forever, which debuts at #2.
Sydney artist Starley makes a noteworthy jump to #4 from #25 following widespread adoption at radio and online. The track, which was released last October, quickly took off overseas and is now experiencing similar local success as the most played track on the Nova network.
Two debuts make it into the Top 20 with Steve Aoki & Louis Tomlinson’s Just Hold On entering at #12, followed by PNAU’s Chameleon at #18.

In an impressive feat of radio domination, Ed Sheeran takes both #1 and #2 on the Most Added chart with Castle On The Hill and Shape Of You, respectively. Both tracks saw across the board additions to the Nova network, both KIIS stations and all commercial Hit stations as well as the Ash London Live show.
Sia’s Move Your Body saw similar levels of success, only losing out on KIIS 101.1. Sage The Gemini’s Now And Later and Snakehips’ new cut Don’t Leave ft. MØ also enjoyed stellar weeks.

Australia can’t get enough of The Chainsmokers. Previous hit Closer ft. Halsey blew up in in the country, achieving 7x Platinum certifications and recently hitting one billion views on YouTube. They’ve now followed this up with Paris, their latest cut to feature one half of the duo, Drew Taggart, adopting lead vocal duties. Taking on more of a restrained approach than previous hits, the track is as much a pop ballad as it is an EDM banger.
Also hitting commercial next week is the debut track from veteran songwriter Julia Michaels, as well as a re-service from JP Cooper that’s worth keeping an eye on.
Jax Jones’ playful cut You Don’t Know Me ft. Raye ought to turn quite a few heads while Amine is set to tackle both commercial and alternative with the service of Caroline.
