When I arrived at MIX in Melbourne last year, the first change I made was to install a FREE Traffic Jams bed into our regular traffic reports and another one into our ‘thunder crosses’ (promotional vehicles).

My mentor Jim Rohn taught me to always do more than you get paid for as an investment in your future.
He said, “Formal education will make you a living, SELF EDUCATION will make you a fortune.”
The best way to become better in radio production is to LISTEN.

In the early 90's after working within the audio department of a large television company, I became excited after realising where audio within radio could be headed. Back then TV had always been great with pictures, but had lacked the pizazz and 'kick' that people like Jeff Thomas and Phil Lentz were creating within radio.

I have an incredible amount of respect for David Post. For many years he has inspired me with his audio editing creativity.
However it's his 'discipline' and 'attention to detail' that sets him out in front of the pack of my top radio production guys on the planet.
Postie now resides as Senior audio pro and breakfast producer for Jonesy & Amanda at WSFM, but as you read through his daily 'to-do-list' you quickly see that his role is broad and full of creative opportunity to shine.
Thanks so much Postman for taking the time and sharing an insight into 'The Day in the Life of a Radio Production Pro'.
