Chaser Radio delivering the laughs on Triple M Sydney

Staff Writer

Four of the original members of The Chaser – Charles Firth, Andrew Hansen, Dom Knight and Chris Taylor are back on-air at Triple M Sydney with Radio Chaser.

The show is now in its third week of a 12 week season between 11am to 1pm weekdays.

The Chaser so far has covered a broad range of subjects with politics dominating; Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, the budget, banks, Prince Phillip, Johnny Depp and Malcolm Turnbull.

Guests have already included Tom Ballard, Fiona O’loughlin, Nath Valvo and Will Anderson.

The boys have some memorable segments including Round Table Rescue, Ray Hadley Rainbow and the hilarious Oh No You Beauty.

The Chaser are appearing for three months only, but you would have to ask; is it a trial for a national Triple M drive show in 2018?

And would the show be networked around the Triple M network of regional stations?

Or would they be considered as a future breakfast show for Triple M, which currently sits in the eighth position in Sydney?

Either way, fans of The Chaser will love this new show. Some Triple M fans might miss the music; there’s a lot of talk, but with all the other FM stations playing music at this time of day, The Chaser’s unique talk and comedy could pay off for Triple M.

As you would expect, The Chaser team are funny, intelligent, irreverent and self-effacing – it’s making for compelling listening, and you can be sure their daily podcast will attract a vast following.

It’s not the first time The Chaser have been on radio, either. In 2004 and 2005, two of the team hosted triple j’s Today Today on drive, and they also did a short stint on Triple M on a show called Chas and Dom from The Chaser.

Now around 10 years later they’re back on weekdays, and you can expect to hear their unique take on current news and events, as only The Chaser can do.
