EXCLUSIVE: A reunited Jane Kennedy and Mick Molloy on their drive show debut

Staff Writer

Jane Kennedy and Mick Molloy returned to the Melbourne airwaves yesterday, as the show made it’s on-air debut ahead of the wider launch into other states next year.

Known as “The Kennedy Molloy Show” this time around, the pair spoke exclusively to Radio Today after their first show yesterday.

“I feel incredibly lucky to be working in radio today, a medium I’ve always adored, especially with Mick Molloy who is undoubtedly one of the funniest and most talented guys in the country,” Jane said.

“The Kennedy Molloy show is about having a good time and a laugh with a couple of great mates for a few hours every afternoon. I suspect there’ll be a fair bit of mischief thrown in for good measure. I couldn’t be more excited and can’t wait for January when we fire up and go National.”

No stranger to the Triple M audience, Mick Molloy describes radio as the medium to work in if he had to choose only one.

“How good is it to sit in front of a microphone and bang on to all corners of the country?”

“It was great to be back in drive which feels like my natural habitat. I can’t begin to tell you how much I enjoyed doing two hours of radio with Jane. She is a gun. You can’t manufacture chemistry and I’m really looking forward to making great radio with a great friend.”

As for the slick choice of branding for the new show, Molloy added that he’s “come a long way” since he first started with the station.

“It’s great to be on a billboard for a Triple M show where I’m not in my underpants,” he joked.
