“You know what…Piss off!”: Mix102.3’s Jodie Oddy responds to bully on-air

Staff Writer

Yesterday, Adelaide’s Mix102.3 breakfast host Jodie Oddy received a scathing three-page letter from a listener accusing her of being a bully.

Oddy fiercely responded live on-air, telling the anonymous assailant she is a “horrible person” and welcomed her to listen to another station.

“It attacked every facet of my character, from my laugh, to my appearance, to my family,” the presenter revealed.

She was originally reluctant to talk about it on air but spurred on by co-host Mark ‘Soda’ Soderstrom, Oddy decided to discuss it to deter people from spreading hate and bullying.

“My love, you’ve just spent three pages telling me how much you hate me and what a revolting human being I am, who’s the frickin’ bully here?” she asked the aggressor.

“Bullies trade on intimidation and they bank on being so nasty that people are frightened into submission and I won’t do that. If that was my child writing those words I’d be absolutely mortified and ashamed.”

Following the segment, Oddy received an outpouring of support from Mix102.3 listeners.

Jarrad from Salisbury wrote, “You have more support out there than you do have haters,” while Vicki from Two Wells said, “Go Jodie! I really enjoy your show, don’t worry about her, she’s obviously a poo.”
