triple j Breakfast with Tom and Alex saw this story from the US last week:

A dog in Tennessee is scheduled to die today, after his owner abandoned him after deciding that the canine was gay. The dog's original master noticed him 'hunched over' another male dog, which made him think that the dog was homosexual.

The pitbull is currently at a shelter in Jackson awaiting his fate, but he is set to be put down at 1 p.m. unless a new owner can be found.

The dog ended up being adopted and named Elton.

In tribute, Tom & Alex sang a parody version of Same Love by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.
