
2GB Breakfast Announcer has been instructed to apologise to Sydney's Lebanese Muslim community by the Administrative Decisions Tribunal today.
In 2005 Jones referred to the community as 'vermin' who 'infest our shores'. The Tribunal has ordered that his apology be read between 8am and 8.30am on one day next week, and they have scripted the apology word for word.

The ACMA have opened a formal investigation into the broadcast of last weeks Prank Call.
In the below statement they have made a point of clairfying that their "formal regulatory relationship" is with 2Day FM, and not MC and Mel.
The investigation will focus on the compliance of the licensee, Today FM Sydney Pty Ltd, with its licence conditions and the Commercial Radio Codes of Practice.
In opening the investigation, the ACMA has decided to exercise its discretionary powers under section 170 of the Broadcasting Services Act 1992 to commence an ‘own motion’ investigation.

It has emerged that Jacintha Saldanha had left an apparent suicide note for her husband and children.
Keith Vaz, the Labour MP who is the one speaking on the family's behalf said:
"What the family need are the full facts. There are unexplained circumstances. The hospital needs to be more proactive, a full inquiry is needed and the family need to be included in that."
He also said that Jacintha's husband and her children knew nothing about the prank call until after her death.
"They were in the dark about the hoax call. They hadn't watched the news or seen anything about it."

2Day FM will start playing ads again from Thursday. They will donate all profits made from then until the end of 2012 to an appropriate memorial fund that will directly benefit the family of Jacintha Saldanha.
They have guaranteed a minimum of $500,000 AUD.

It will be headed up in Australia by ex-Fairfax digital boss Jane Huxley (pictured below).
