VIDEO: Sting, Jimmy Barnes, The Living End front new Triple M TVC

Rock royalty, Aussie sporting legends and Triple M’s top talent front a brand new campaign for Australia’s home of rock, sport & comedy – Triple M.

The new campaign features Cold Chisel’s iconic track Rising Sun and will run across outdoor, transit, TV, print, digital and social mediums throughout Triple M’s four metro cities – Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, and in Perth for mix94.5.

Launching on February 19th, this campaign builds on the Triple M rebrand campaign that began across regional Australia in December 2016.

The campaign uses Triple M’s on-air talent as well as various friends of the network, including former AFL and NRL sporting stars Chris Judd and Ryan Girdler, rock stars Sting, Jimmy Barnes and The Living End.

The TVC also includes and well-known faces that Triple M listeners have come to "know, love and trust".

SCA's head of marketing Nikki Clarkson said, “There’s only one iconic brand that’s stood for Aussie rock, sport and comedy for the last 30 years and that is Triple M.

“This campaign not only heroes our own on-air talent but includes great rock and sporting icons, those who have been an integral part of Triple M over the decades.

“We are excited to build on the campaign we launched for Triple M across regional Australia in December 2016 with this new work for our metro stations. Triple M is now truly a national brand.”

To long. Needed to go local. Know the AFL talent, have no idea who the others are, also edits are jumpy. You're welcome.

@Anonymous - I think you mean "Too" long, not To long. If you only know some of the talent in this commercial and you work in the radio industry (which I assume you do as you are commenting on this site) you should probably educate yourself better. No doubt there will be versions of this ad for each state just like there was for the launch of Triple M in SCA's regional markets last year.

Been a while since I heard a Sting song on Triple M. Or anything decent from the Police for that matter - not bogan enough.

There is no mention anywhere of the most popular and highest rating shift on mmm especially on regional radio which is Ray Hadley.. Ray is really the only one on just about all the mmm stations yet he is not in the tvc.

I'm very curious to see the Mix 94.5 version of this. Any chance of a post Radiotoday?
Dear Anonymous (12:03 17 Feb 2017)
I think you mean "too long", unless you are addressing someone at SCA by the name of Mr.Long, but I have not met him yet.

At least the advert points to the brands poibt of difference, unlike the latest Nova ads which show they are just like the rest of the pack. Cheers :)

Should be local, plus the overnight team should be on it.

There was "only one" Triple M. It was broadcasting at 104.9FM in Sydney between 1980 and 1988. Now there are scores of Triple M radio stations all over Australia. Some relay the cricket, some have Ray Hadley, some have the NRL, some have the AFL, some are on FM, many broadcast on AM and a few of them even play rock music. The iconic Triple M whisper is getting softer and is a shadow of its former self.

I don't mind it. Sounds like there will be local versions for each state and does a good job of showcasing the talent and what MMM is all about.

Sorry my bad. Let me try again.

Too long. Needed to go local. Know the AFL talent, have no idea who the others are, also edits are jumpy. You're welcome.

Bit disappointing to only see a glimpse of two smart, warm and entertaining women in there... I mean, don't they love their rock music & sport too?! :(
