SCA axe Sea FM’s Paddy & Ciel

Staff Writer

Long running Sea FM Central Coast Breakfast show, Paddy & Ciel, have been axed today by Southern Cross Austereo.

In a statement, Sea FM General Manager, Paul Wrigley, said, "it was a tough decision announced today by Sea FM management. It's a tough decision, but time for a change. I am excited about the future announcements regarding the station's breakfast lineup"

Wrigley went on to say that the station has gone through some changes in the daytime lineup and implied that it was a decision made at national level.

He also noted that the decision to end the show without a farewell program was not his, "It was requested of me that they go on garden leave. It was a management decision".

"We are like one big happy family and my people are very important to me so it's devastating when some of the family leave".

An announcement on the new Breakfast show for Sea FM is understood to be made within weeks.

As Paddy and Ciel have not had the chance to say goodbye to their listeners on-air, they have done so via Facebook…
