Survey 2 results for each metropolitan market are all out now, click on the city below to see the ratings for each city.
Later this morning we look at the Brisbane market and publish the long-term trends of those stations, and we will also publish the 'ups and downs' by network.
The headline summary market by market is below:
SYDNEY HEADLINES
-
The AM results in Sydney were largely flat with no significant movements overall.
-
On the FM band, Mix and 2Day were up marginally.
-
2Day's Breakfast share has fallen slightly to now be under 10%.
-
The main movements have come from Triple M, Nova and 95.3.
-
Triple M have fallen across the board, with a particularly sharp decline in 25-39's.
-
DMG will be pleased with both stations increasing share: Nova have increased 25-39's, and overall share has grown nearly 1%. Most notably is a sharp increase in Breakfast share, increasing 1.4%.
-
95.3 have also grown, by 0.7%, with an increase 25-39's and in teens.
MELBOURNE HEADLINES
-
3AW have come back strongly after an unusually soft Survey 1, and are the number one ranked station by 4%. This has been helped no doubt by the closing of MTR.
-
Their sister station Magic, has fallen - perhaps due in part to Pacific Star simulcasting the Digital My MP service on the former MTR frequency.
-
The Melbourne result is not great for Gold, Mix, Magic or Nova - all of whom have fallen.
-
Gold and Mix have both suffered declines in almost all demographics, and in all shifts, in a result that ARN would probably like to put a line through and move on from.
-
Nova have fallen across the board (aside from drive), whilst Fox has increased slightly. Fox's growth has come primarily from the breakfast/drive bookends. Breakfast on Fox improved by nearly 2%.
-
91.5 has increased share by nearly 1%, and importantly, the increases are largely in target.
BRISBANE HEADLINES
-
The Brisbane individual survey can best be described as 'boring' with little movement across the board.
-
Whilst 97.3 had a flat result at 14.1%, they are presently the leading overall station by over 2% in Brisbane.
-
4BH had a increase in share, all centred 40-64.
-
B105 have also improved, driven primarily through afternoons and drive.
-
ABC612 have had, unsurprisingly given the state election, a strong result improving share by nearly 1%.
ADELAIDE HEADLINES
-
Adelaide was also a somewhat 'boring' survey result with little movement.
-
5AA have had a strong survey, increasing by over a point and is 0.2% off number one overall.
-
Triple M, whilst having a marginal increase, did add nearly 1% in Breakfast. This is the first survey result including former 5AA breakfast contributor Jon Blake on the 5MMM show.
PERTH HEADLINES
-
The two big movers in Perth today have been 92.9 who have increased by 1.1%, and 6PR who have increased by nearly 2%.
-
The biggest falls have come from 96FM, down 1%, and Nova who have declined 0.7%.
-
Mix 94.5 also fell by 0.6%, but when you are on a 16 share and leading the market by 5% you can probably afford to come back a little.
-
96FM had falls in all demographics and all shifts in what has been a disappointing result for the station.
-
Nova declined in its key demographics of 18-24 and 25-39, and was saved from a bigger overall decline by a 1% increase 40-54.
