Halesy leaves Radio Today

Staff Writer

Today is a little bittersweet

Mark Hales, Radio Today’s Editor, joined us when we were about 15 or so weeks old, and has been our Editor for nearly two years.

That’s a lot of articles, a lot of survey analyses, and a lot of interviews! During that time Halesy has overseen all the content, and managed the editorial direction of Radio Today. Not a bad effort.

But all good things come to an end, and today we can reveal that Halesy will be leaving Radio Today in late May to join River 949 in Ipswich as Music Director/Announcer.

As many of you will know Halesy has an impressive programming history as Program Director for Nova Adelaide and Perth, and Music Director at 92.9 Perth and for the launch of Nova 93.7, so this is a return to his core passion.

On behalf of the rest of the Radio Today team; Jay, Greg, Brad, Daryl, Scott and Eriks, I’d like to acknowledge Halesy’s exceptional work on the site; not only has he been a fantastic Editor, but he’s a great bloke to work with, despite the awful awesome jokes. (Ed: I still have access Dan !)

His excellent work has enabled each of us to focus on our respective businesses, and roles, knowing that Radio Today has been in safe hands under his leadership and management.

Of course, Halesy is a part-owner of Radio Today, so he’ll still be writing the odd article. Just not during the week prior to a long weekend, that’s when he’ll be slaving over a computer trying to get the music sorted for the weekend on River.

Congrats Halesy, enjoy the move to SEQ, just in time for Origin. Go the Blues!
