Project Banana a radical radio concept

Staff Writer

It’s the radical new radio concept that’s on air in the UK.

But despite ‘Project Banana’ being the brainchild of a someone who now works in Australia, it’s not expected to make its way down under any time soon.

So, what's this groundbreaking idea?

Well, listeners to Absolute Radio can now choose between seven music formats including 60s, 90s and classic rock.

No matter which format they choose, they'll still hear the same on air talent, news and information and commercials.

'Project Banana' was dreamt up by Southern Cross Austereo's Director of Digital and Innovation Clive Dickens (who formerlly worked for Absolute Radio).

He told a Radio Today source there were no plans to reproduce the idea in Australia right now.
