World first for SBS’s World Cup coverage

When the FIFA World Cup kicks off this Friday, Australia’s SBS Radio will broadcast in more languages than ever before.

They’ll also feature the most languages from a single broadcaster in the history of the international football (aka soccer) tournament.

SBS Radio will have two dedicated stations to broadcast every match and each of those will feature commentary in two languages.

Digital station SBS Radio 3 will feature languages other than English while SBS Radio 4, also digital, will have the English commentary.

Socceroos' matches will also be simulcast across the analogue SBS Radio 1 and SBS Radio 2.

The 2014 FIFA World Cup is live and exclusive on SBS from this Friday until Monday 14 July.

Australia's first game is against Chile at 7:30am AEST this Saturday.
