SCA research into Christmas shopping habits

Staff Writer

Southern Cross Austereo has released the results of its latest insights study into listeners and their buying habits.

The research study shows that 1 in 5 Australian women start their Christmas shopping in July, and that those who start early tend to spend more on Christmas than those who start shopping later.

Furthermore, these 'early shoppers' are highly likely (80%) to use the internet to research their purchases, and subsequently to buy (78%) online.

The research, consisting of P1's to the Today and Triple M networks, had a sample size of 3,000 people. There were a further 500 participants involved who are not P1's to SCA stations.
