SCA’s new CFO resigns

Staff Writer

Southern Cross Austereo's Chief Financial Officer Peter Lewis has resigned only one month after he joined the company.

SCA is yet to confirm the news, which was reported in The Australian earlier tonight (here). The resignation follows SCA's profit downgrade last month.

Lewis, formerly of Seven West Media, joined SCA a month ago replacing Stephen Kelly who died of cancer days after leaving the broadcaster.

Speaking to Fairfax, SCA Chairman Max Moore-Wilton said;

Speaking via telephone from Moscow, Mr Moore-Wilton said: "I don't wish to comment on it. The company expects to make a statement to the exchange as soon as possible to deal with this speculation."

"It's a management issue and Rhys Holleran is in Sydney, I am currently in Moscow."

At the time of writing SCA is yet to make an announcement to the ASX on the departure, which it will presumably do first thing in the morning under it's disclosure requirements.
