The duopoly of Australian radio is the worst thing to have happened to the industry.
Sure the corporations can run it cheaper, but you have fewer jocks, journos .. staff in general.
And in many cases the profits go out of the country.
Then they wonder why retailers are doing it tough, and therefore advertising is tough.
It also limits your employment options if you don't like your current situation, as you may not fit the format of the alternate networks.
Let's hope the government doesn't allow even more stations to be owned by each corporation.
