Crocmedia bitten by Fairwork

Staff Writer

Crocmedia has been slugged with a $24,000 fine by Fairwork Australia over two university interns who were working for them in 2013.

Working on one of Crocmedia’s overnight programs for SEN, they came unstuck for not paying the two workers, the minimum wage, penalty rates, casual loading and not providing pay slips. According to reports they were listed as volunteers under an internship.

Crocmedia co-operated during the investigations and all obligations have been met in terms of payment to the two last year by the company but as the Fair Work Ombudsman took the case to court they been ordered to pay $24,000 penalty for the breaches of the Fair Work Act.
