Canberra Survey #1

There is a new #1 station in Canberra as Mix 106.3 leapfrogs both the ABC and hit104.7 to take the top spot.

Mix106.3 commands a 17.9 slice in the nation’s capital, up 4.3 from the last round in 2015.

The recent rebranded hit104.7 slots into second place with 14.6% and the ABC drops back from number 1 to number 3 in the market with 14.6%.

Mix 106.3 had strong increases in any demo from 18 to 54. While hit104.7 was flat with 25-39’s. hit104.7  took a hit in the lower end with 18 to 24’s and 40 plus.

The ABC strangely took a huge whack in 25 to 39’s, dropping almost 11 points and almost half again in 40-54’s.

While not the best result for 666ABC, they still dominate breakfast with 19%. Mix is now second with a 15.9 and hit104.7 now fourth in the market behind Radio National – a 12.5 for their new team.

In Drive it is battle between Mix and Hit – Mix take it out for survey #1 with 20.6 to hit104.7’s 20.5 with Hamish & Andy.

2CC had a slight increase to 7.2 with Ray Hadley again their dominate shift  and stablemate 2CA slipped half a point  to pull a 5.5 share.

Overall a solid commercial result for the SCA/ARN joint venture.
