Survey #1: Coffs Harbour

106.3 2CS FM and 105.5 Star FM on the NSW north coast in Coffs Harbour have released their first radio ratings in more than a decade.       

The survey by Xtra Research is one of 20 regional surveys to be undertaken throughout this year, to provide up to date data on radio audiences across the country.

Summary Snapshot:

  • Star FM dominates as Station Most Listened with 23.5%. 2CS FM is second with 20.1% The ABC is third with 13.6 and triple j at 13.5% is fourth.
  • Star dominates in any demo under 39 with 2CS taking out any above 40.
  • Breakfast Star FM leads, followed by 2CS, ABC Local and triple j.

“The surveys are a great way to draw attention to the importance of regional radio and there has already been a positive impact in the markets where surveys have been conducted,”said Joan Warner, CEO of  Commercial Radio Australia.

“The results provide sales teams with fresh data to present to clients and stimulate advertisers to look at radio again,” she said.

Radio ratings have been released for Griffith, Dubbo, Mt Gambier and Port Macquarie this year, and surveys for the Western Australia regions of Albany and Kalgoorlie are set to be released later this month.
