FOX and Boost help out the kids

Staff Writer

The Matt & Jo Show on Fox FM in Mebourne are joining forces with Boost Juice to help Victorian kids.

Last week the Free Fruit Friday scheme ended in Victorian primary schools. Under this new initiative, Boost will fund the delivery of fresh fruit to 300 schools for grades prep to two, for 4 weeks, while working to find a long term solution.

It's a great example of radio doing what it does best, connecting with a local community and rallying a cause.

Boost Juice has a long connection with radio, after being launched by Jeff and Janine Allis, Jeff being the former Group Program Director for the Austereo Network, and Boost remains a consistent advertiser on radio.

Boost Juice Bars founder Janine Allis explained it was in response to outcry by concerned schools and parents…

“When we became aware that this fantastic initiative was being discontinued there was a universal Boost sentiment that we wanted to assist.

Dan Bradley, who is the Director of Marketing for the Retail Zoo (the parent company of Boost Juice), as well as being a Director of Radio Today, commented…

"For the Boost Juice brand it was a no-brainer to drive the Free Fruit Friday initiative, and it made sense for us to have a media partner on board like Fox. Bang on brand for both Boost and Fox, and a really good thing to do for the Victorian community"

FOX FM and Boost Juice have also started a facebook page to encourage more support – see it here
