“Why is it ok for women’s breasts to be used to sell burgers, but it’s frowned upon when women breast feed in public?”

Next Thursday River 949’s Marnie and Campo will launch Australia’s first ever Breastfeeding Calendar. “The idea came from a meme I saw on Facebook”, said River949’s Marnie T and new mum.

“The meme read ‘why is it ok for women’s breasts to be used to sell burgers, but it’s frowned upon when women breast feed in public?’”

“It really was a no brainer” said Marnie after listeners swamped the station with calls of support for the calendar.

“We had a lady named Kerrie call in and say that if it’s ok for us to buy calendars with shirtless fire fighters then we should be able to have breastfeeding calendars.”

“We did a little research and found that the calendars had been done before in the U.S but not in Australia, so we decided to change that.”

Marnie along with 11 mums from around South East Queensland including Margaux Parker, the wife of former Broncos captain Corey Parke, appear in the calendar which goes on sale next Thrusday.

Marnie and Campo will do theri show from the Coffee Club in Browns Plains with all proceeds from the sale of the calendar going to the Australian Breastfeeding Association.
