19 staff have graduated from the inaugural SCA Media Academy at Charles Sturt University.

In a partnership between CSU in Bathurst and SCA, the Academy offers SCA employees an intensive communications course covering areas including the evolution of the radio industry, convergence of media, digital and social media trends, PR, marketing, sales principles, channel planning, legal and regulatory frameworks and content management.

After 10 weeks of online study and assessment, all travelled from across the country including Perth, Brisbane, Coffs Harbour and Wagga Wagga to be on campus for the final five days. With the course developed by CSU and funded by SCA, Course Director Brett Van Heekeren congratulated the students saying, “Your diligence, enthusiasm and strategic thinking has been exemplary and I congratulate you on your weeks of study and your presentations today. I hope this has given you a good entry into studying media and communications that you may wish to build on in the future.”

Commenting on the standard of the presentations, SCA CEO Grant Blackley said “You have come up with some really engaging brands dealing with business opportunities and challenges that our company is grappling with right now.”

“I’m very pleased with the success of our first SCA Media Academy. We looked for existing education and training course we could offer our staff to help them develop professionally.
