NOMINATE: Who is Australia’s best FM Content Director?

Staff Writer

Each year Radio Today examines the success and influence of Australia’s top content directors and publishes its annual list.

We do this in consultation with industry experts past and present, network insiders, programmers, group executives and radio consultants.

This year will be no different, but in 2017, we are inviting you to nominate (below) and vote (next Monday 1 May) in four categories; Best Network or Group CD, Best Metro CD, Best Regional CD and Best Metro or Regional Assistant CD.

The Content or Program Director’s role is one the most prominent positions within any radio station, responsible for the overall ‘sound’ and direction; music, breakfast and drive shows, jocks, imaging, production, social media, execution of promotions and sales tactics and implementation of network shows.

A CD’s performance is, for the most part, measured on ratings performance; these highly respected individuals program some of the most brilliant sounding radio stations in Australia.

What makes a great Content Director? They have to be strategic, operational, creative, good executives, courageous and strong leaders. It’s a pivotal role and the station’s success or otherwise largely depends on their ability, drive, skills, experience and influence.

This your chance to recognise their hard work, by nominating the people you believe should be on the coveted annual list. But choose wisely, and nominate carefully.
