Ryan Seacrest signs multi-million dollar radio deal

Staff Writer

After starting his new TV gig co-hosting LIVE! with Kelly and Ryan alongside Kelly Ripa last week, American radio personality Ryan Seacrest has reportedly signed a three-year $73 million with struggling iHeartRadio.

Seacrest will be given a new radio show on the network, with the terms of the lucrative deal enabling him to juggle both his TV and radio commitments simultaneously.

Initial speculation suggests that the office belonging to LIVE’s executive producer Michael Gelman at ABC will be transformed into Seacrest’s new radio studio.

iHeartRadio’s parent company, iHeartMedia, is facing financial debts exceeding $20 billion. This comes nine years after former MTV boss Bob Pittman leveraged a $24 billion buyout of the company in 2008.

If iHeart go under in the US which looks likely what does this mean to iHeart in Australia ?

@Rod: I’d say it wouldn’t change anything here. iHeartRadio is only a brand name in Australasia, licensed to ARN and NZME. Clear Channel (now iHeartMedia) sold out of its share of radio assets here years ago.
