SONG SPOTLIGHT: Ali Barter, ‘Please Stay’

Homegrown music export Ali Barter has taken the music industry by storm. Dropping her debut EP back in 2012, triple j has been an influential advocate for Barter from the very start.

She’s notched up three high rotation singles at the station, including Girlie Bits, which was also voted in at #58 on last year’s Hottest 100. Debut LP A Suitable Girl was triple j’s Feature Album upon its release in February.

Latest cut Please Stay has gained the attention of the three main commercial radio networks, seeing Barter score major interviews on Oz Planet (KIIS) and hitAu (SCA).

The powerful track captures the gentle pleading of a woman feeling messed up and craving affection. It has spent three consecutive weeks atop triple j’s Hit List, while finding its way to the peak of many stations’ spins charts across the country.
