2DayFM’s Morning Crew adds to producing team

Staff Writer

The Morning Crew with Hughesy, Ed & Erin on 2DayFM in Sydney has two new senior producers on the team.

Mindy Thomas joins from the Sydney sales team, while Max Corstorphan is moving back across to Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) from Channel 9 where he was the national publicist for The Block.

Prior to his time on The Block, Corstorphan was a producer on 2Day’s The Em Rusciano Radio Show with Harley Breen and then a senior producer on 2DayFM Breakfast featuring at various points Rusciano, Ed Kavalee, Grant Denyer and Ash London.

He left in mid 2019, just prior to when the station moved to an all-music format fronted by Jamie Angel.

Corstorphan said he was thrilled to be part of the 2DayFM family once more.

“There is something really special about creating Breakfast radio, a feeling of electricity and excitement, and that is what has drawn me back to early morning wake-ups. I would also like to take this opportunity to formally apologise in advance for eating chicken and broccoli in the office at 10:00am,” he said.

Thomas, meanwhile, has been with SCA for 18 months as an account manager. Prior to that, she spent almost 10 years at the Australian Radio Network (ARN) in various roles including a senior producer on Jonesy & Amanda and an account manager.

“I’m super excited to be making my return to producing – especially on such an exciting show, with such a phenomenal on air and off-air team. We are all going to have a heck of a lot of fun creating great content for Sydney each morning,” she said.

Thomas and Corstorphan will join content manager Sacha French and producer Alexandra Carlon on the team.

Executive producer Violet Merhi is going on maternity leave.

Most people think 2Day breakfast will rate around 3% in the next survey because the show is terrible

They should put these clowns on incentive contracts.

If the show doesn’t rate at least 4%, no one gets paid

Sometimes I listen because I can’t believe how bad it is.

Have SCA ever stopped to think about the fact that they keep re-hiring the same producers that cannot produce good content? Just think about that for a minute.

Look at these kids and their enthusiasm! It’s great. Let’s check back in December.
