2ser has a new music director, with acting music director Steph Liong given the gig full time.

Steph has worked in the music industry both in Australia and oversees since first volunteering at 2ser nine years ago.

She’s excited to bring a fresh perspective to the programming and content at the station.

“It’s been an incredible joy filling in as music director for the past 16 months, and a huge honour to now take on the role in an ongoing capacity,” she said.

“Since first volunteering at 2SER 9 years ago, the station and its community has held a special spot in my heart – continually schooling me in not only music, but news and current affairs.

“I’m beyond excited to help ring in the station’s 40th birthday in October, and uphold 2SER’s long history in bringing diverse music programming.”

2ser has broadcast on 107.3FM in Sydney for the past 40 years, and can now be heard on digital radio and online.

“Along with Steph’s extensive musical knowledge and passion, she brings strong values and commitment to this leadership role, and will be a huge asset for our station and audience,” said managing director Martin Walters.

“We’d also like to pay tribute to outgoing longstanding music director Andrew Khedoori, who continues working in community broadcasting, leading CBAA’s Amrap Initiative, and remains a close friend of 2SER.”

I hear some great songs on that station, but also some stuff that is so weird it turns me off!
