612’s Breakfast Team heads to the Torres Strait

612’s Breakfast team, Spencer Howson and Bernadette Young hope to give Brisbane listeners a real taste of Queensland as they head to the most northern tip of the state, broadcasting from the Torres Strait.  Designed to give Brisbane listeners a true sense of the state they live in, the trip will see the team work alongside the staff at Indigenous community station, 4MW.

“The staff have requested training in social media, scripting, live reporting, researching and presenting, which we’re looking forward to covering over two days on the 13th and 14th of September,” Spencer said.

“We hope these broadcasts will build pride in our state, as well as a sense of responsibility for those who live outside the capital city. It’ll also be a great opportunity to inform city listeners about the realities of living somewhere as remote as Thursday Island.”

Spencer and Bernadette’s northern adventure broadcasts from 5am, 15^th & 16^th September.
