97.3FM gifts Brisbane motorists cheapest petrol in 15 years

Staff Writer

ARN‘s 97.3FM teamed up with Puma Energy Australia today to give out petrol for 97.3 cents a litre.

The team at 97.3 estimates it’s the cheapest widely available petrol in Australia for around 15 years, with four Puma Energy locations getting involved.

The promotion took place for one big hour of power, between 7:30am and 8:30am, and saw customers lining up for a kilometre to get in on the deal.

The savings to Brisbane locals amounted to almost $14K, with the activation part of Bianca Dye‘s role as unofficial mayor of Brisbane to lend Lord Mayor Graham Quirk a hand.

Bianca was down at Puma Acherfield this morning to assist with pumping petrol and washing windscreens.

“While the Lord Mayor is doing an incredible job of managing the city, 97.3FM was keen to come on board to help ‘Give Back’ to the people of Brisbane,” said 97.3FM content director Barry Drinkwater.

“Thanks to the generosity of our partner Puma Energy Australia, we’re proud to have offered significant savings to Brisbane motorists who were able to fill their tanks at a fuel price not seen widely in more than a decade.

“Judging by stories from customers taking advantage this morning, these acts of kindness really do make a positive impact in people’s lives.

“We look forward to continuing our Unofficial Mayor campaign throughout March, sharing more savings with our listeners and embracing the fun and enthusiasm that is Brisbane.”

In her role, Bianca has also been part of activations of free coffee from any Brisbane Coffee Club, free rides for families on the Wheel of Brisbane, an RSPCA adoption drive, and more to come.
