Abby Coleman plays celebrant for drive-through wedding

Brisbane locals Rowan Doherty and Emma Kidd are now husband and wife courtesy of Queenland’s first drive-through wedding.

The pair’s wedding was cancelled due to the pandemic, since rescued by breakfast show.

The couple made history when HIT105’s Stav, Abby & Matt married them at Zambrero Heathwood, literally in the drive-through.

Matty Acton took their order, Abby Coleman, who is a marriage celebrant, officially married them at window 1 and Stav Davidson then presented them with their meal at window two.

They then had their first dance in the drive-through to Ed Sheeran’s Perfect, while customers were halted for the special moment.

The long-term couple from Laidley were due to get married later this year but had to change plans because of Coronavirus restrictions.
