ABC Sydney slammed for planned segment on whether chess is racist
ABC Radio Sydney has come under fire ahead of a segment that is set to discuss whether the game of chess has undertones of racism.
Former Aussie chess player and economist John Adams revealed on Twitter that he’d received a call from a producer at ABC Sydney.
The producer allegedly asked him whether the fact that white always moves first was racist.
“I just received a phone call from an ABC Sydney based producer seeking a comment about the game of chess,” Adams said.
“The ABC have taken the view that chess is RACIST given that white always go first! They are seeking comment from a chess official as to whether the rules of chess need to be altered!
“Trust the taxpayer-funded national broadcaster to apply ideological Marxist frameworks to anything and everything in Australia!”
He finished by accusing the ABC of broadcasting “irrelevant” topics during the pandemic. In response, an ABC spokesperson has denied that the broadcaster claimed chess is racist.
In a statement to B&T, the ABC pointed out that no content covering such an issue aired.
“The ABC has not broadcast any content that has covered this issue.
“The rules of chess have been a topic of discussion within the chess community in recent days and a member of the ABC Radio Sydney team made preliminary enquiries regarding what had sparked that discussion. No interview was done nor put to air.”

I notice that John Adams didn’t address the question – just a really defensive response instead. Now that we’re experiencing a new civil rights movement around the world I think these kind of questions are very relevant. My only problem with this is once again ABC has been spooked by its own shadow and backed down… Something SBS would never do.
This is non-story. They asked a question… determined nothing more needed to be reported… and nothing was reported. John Adams is clearly a massive baby for his reaction and he’s desperately seeking like-minded idiots to jump on this fake outrage for something that NEVER WENT TO AIR.
What a colossal moron.
There we go, a couple of defenders of the left-leaning ABC that does whatever it wants and to heck with its Charter, insidiously white- anting Australian society at every opportunity, all at tax-payers expense.
No doubt these two also applauded an ABC afternoon radio host who, a while back, suggested that all climate change ‘deniers’ should have their foreheads stamped as such, presumably for easy recognition & appropriate action. More effective & permanent than a star printed on one’s clothes.
History tells us that all communist/leftist systems end in tears and often bloodshed. It won’t be different this time but the dumb as ditch water left don’t bother with history.
America is already in a ‘soft’ civil war, led by the left disguising its-self as something else – it will become uncivil as the Greatest Depression unfolds. I just hope that this violent leftist cancer doesn’t infect Australia but I’m not holding breath.
I won’t descend into a slanging match; there’s no room for polite discussion, we are political opposites who will never agree.
BTW I didn’t know John Adams was a chess champion; it figures, he’s a smart, thoughtful guy. His ‘We The People’ videos – that expose bank bail-in provisions and the real reasons behind the $10K cash transactions proposal (and much more) are well worth a look.
He’s a good guy, a white hat. No wonder some denigrate him.
Peak ABC. The age of state media is well and truly over. The ABC has become a parody of itself.
No surprise the regular types hating on anything they don’t like.
The same people who ostensibly support a melting pot of ideas and competing reporting are always the ones who shriek ‘Marxist Communist Leftist ideologies are destroying our country!!!1!1!1’ as soon as there’s a sniff of something they can use to say ‘SEEE?!?!!?!!! CRAZY LEFTIES!!!!!!!’
