Staff Writer

After leaving Hit105 to executive produce 2DayFM Breakfast, Abi Benaud finds herself back in Brisbane as assistant content director.

Benaud previously executive produced Stav, Abby & Matt at the Southern Cross Austereo-owned station after departing the Kyle & Jackie Show as a guest booker.

She will report to content director Jack Ball.

“Abi returns to Brisbane with a wealth of experience, most recently as 2Day FM’s Executive Producer, and earlier this year Executive Producer of Hit105’s Stav, Abby and Matt,” said Ball.

“The entire Brisbane team is excited to have Abi return home to Brisbane and take the next step in her career.”

Benaud’s welcomed return leaves Jake Powell to focus on the music.

“My dream as a kid was to be the Music Director for Hit105 and I am looking forward to continuing to play great Aussie and International artists on the station,” Powell told Radio Today.

Powell his been juggling two roles, assistant CD and music director. He joined SCA’s Brisbane HQ from Newcastle, where he was MD for Newy and the regional Hit Network.

“Jake is a 2019 ACRA nominee for Best Music Director (Newcastle), and has been in radio for eight years,” added Ball.

“He is a great young music director, and is already immersed in the Brisbane music scene.”

Abi is the most talented content mind under the age of 30
And under the age of 35
Have to double check if she’s number 1 under 40 but she’s definitely top 2 there as well

Amazing if hit105 regains the incredible numbers breakfast had under her leadership a year ago, should be a ticket for her to get whatever job she wants.
