Acast launches mental health event series

Former Editor & Content Director

World Mental Health Day is this coming Saturday, prompting podcasting company Acast to launch a series of events for its agency partners.

The first event is on Friday, October 9, with a mental health-themed quiz hosted by mental health advocate and creator of the Better Than Yesterday podcast, Osher Günsberg.

Henrik Isaksson, the regional managing director for Australia and New Zealand at Acast, said it’s been a tough year for those working in agencies, but there’s still room to relax and celebrate.

“We wanted to move beyond the traditional media lunch or pub event to offer something that will help improve the lives of our agency partners in a fun and engaging way,” he said. “This new mental health initiative is another way we’re hoping to give back and support the industry.”

Günsberg said he hopes the quiz enables members of the industry to step back from their hectic lives and reconnect with colleagues and friends.

“We all love a quiz – so why not use it as a way to discuss and reflect on our own mental health? It’s refreshing to see events like this popping up that help drive more meaningful conversations and industry engagement,” he added.

Friday’s event takes place from 12pm. You can register here.

Events will take place quarterly and aim to remove the stigma around mental ill-health, subvert traditional media-land events, and encourage real and productive mental health discussions.
