Southern Cross Austereo‘s Hubble Talent Academy Internship Award has been awarded to Brooke Taylor.

The AFTRS graduate was selected from a group of young radio talent, and the internship will see her travel to Shepparton in Victoria. She’ll now spend six weeks doing paid work for Hit96.9 and Triple M 95.3.

Taylor will get the opportunity to work with talent including Hit96.9 breakfast duo Josiah & Elly and 95.3 Triple M breakfast announcer Sean Cullen.

“I am beyond excited to be heading down to Shepparton to work with the team! I can’t wait to get my hands dirty doing everything and anything to learn as much as possible during my time there,” she said.

“I’m looking forward to applying my skills learnt at AFTRS and put them into practice. I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity from both AFTRS and SCA.”

SCA’s head of talent development Adrian Brine added; “All the applicants from AFTRS for the Hubble Academy Internship were of outstanding quality, it made it extremely hard to choose.

“Brooke has complementary skills for the available role in Shepparton and I know they will love having her ‘can do’ attitude in the building!”

SCA’S talent development unit, Hubble, was designed to discover the next generation of audio personalities and uncover new talent. Earlier this year Radio Today partnered with Hubble to present our annual list of Top New Talent.

It comes after a great week for the Australian Film, Television & Radio School, with AFTRS Graduates sweeping the 2019 ACRAs. Former students took home 13 gongs, with Tim Blackwell, Stephen Cenatiempo and Glenn Stolzenheim each winning two ACRAs.
