Amanda Keller gets waxed

Staff Writer

Some months ago Madame Tussauds Sydney announced that the winner of their 'Australia Votes' competition was Amanda Keller from WS-FM.

The competition had asked the public to vote who they wished to be immportalised in wax, from a list including Will Anderson, Rebecca Gibney, David Koch and Kyle Sandilands. Keller won the popular vote, and her wax figure arrived in Sydney on Friday afternoon last week.

“I am thrilled beyond words,” said Keller “Little did I know 28 years ago when I visited Madame Tussauds in London and put my finger up Viv Richard's nose, that Australia would get a chance to do the same to me. I am humbled by the whole experience.”

To ensure the wax likeness was perfect, Keller had met with a team of sculptors who had specifically flown to Australia from Madame Tussauds in London. Across a number of hours, they took Kellers body measurements, and matched her skin tone, eye and hair colour to ensure her figure would look accurate before completing the wax figure, and delivering it last week.

The Sydney branch of the Madame Tussauds franchise opens today.
