Annaliese van Riet leaves SCA after four months leading culture
Annaliese van Riet has departed Southern Cross Austereo, Radio Today can reveal.
Van Riet was named chief people and culture officer by SCA last December, with a January 20 start date, but after less than four months the executive is no longer in the building.
According to van Riet’s LinkedIn profile on Saturday, there is no record of her time at SCA. The executive’s current role is director of amplifi HR, a position she’s held since November 2018.
Radio Today reached out to SCA for comment, who confirmed the departure: “We can confirm that Annaliese has left the business and we wish her all the best with her future endeavours.”
The results of that review, according to Blackley, highlighted the need to dismantle an age-old pyramid structure that has ruled the broadcaster’s hierarchy for decades.

Blackley also outlined his intentions to “implement a structural change” to the leadership team, which included a team of “chiefs” that would report directly to him, with van Riet among them.
“The breadth of experience that Annaliese brings to our business is valuable,” Blackley said upon van Riet’s appointment, “and we are delighted she is joining us.
“In recognition of the importance of people to our business, and retaining and building upon our award-winning culture, Annaliese will also join the executive leadership team.”
She joined SCA amid a turbulent period for the company, with around 90 redundancies across the radio and television business, first reported by Radio Today, one week before her appointment.
Prior to joining SCA, van Riet held senior people and culture roles for Doordash, APN Outdoor, Pandora and Fairfax Media over a 15-year career in human resources.
