Australian Audio Summit launches with Christian Hull, Sam Cavanagh, Ollie Wards & more

Former Editor & Content Director

A new summit featuring Australia’s best audio content creators is set to take place on Friday, November 27, in partnership with Radio Today.

The event will be hosted by former SCA head of content, and now international radio and podcast talent coach, Craig Bruce, and will feature creators including Christian Hull, Ollie Wards, Sam Cavanagh, Christian O’Connell, and Bree Tomasel.

Hull spent time at SCA working across programs including Dan & Maz, 2DayFM Breakfast, and Carrie & Tommy as a digital producer. He’s now amassed over 1.5 million followers across Facebook, YouTube and TikTok, and has collected over 500 million views. He’s also sold out three comedy tours.

Tomasel’s career spans radio and television, and she now boasts one million social media followers, while O’Connell hosts Melbourne’s #1 FM Breakfast show and was the youngest ever inductee into the UK Radio Academy’s Hall of Fame.

Tickets are $85 and can be purchased here.

Cavanagh is now the head of SCA’s Audio on Demand and was previously the executive producer on shows including Hamish & Andy, while Wards has recently moved from triple j to be TikTok’s first director of music.

Co-founder and director of the Australian Audio Summit, Bruce, said the event is the first of its kind, where attendees will hear directly from, and speak directly with, the content creators who have made it work.

“Talented performers, regardless of the platform, are incredibly generous with their knowledge,” he said. “There are no secrets too big or small they won’t share with others. This is what you’ll discover at the Australian Audio Summit.”

The summit’s co-founder and director, Kate Meade, added: “It has never been a more exciting time to work in the audio industry. The Australian Audio Summit aims to celebrate the best makers in the business. Podcasters, content creators and radio broadcasters – the time is now for the creators of audio to come together.”

The half-day virtual event will take place over three hours, and feature conversations and insights, alongside practical advice on how content creators can build their own audiences.

Tickets are $85 and can be purchased here.
