Australian Open announces SEN has official radio partner

Staff Writer

The Australian Open tennis tournament has brought on SEN as its official radio broadcast partner for 2019.

KIA Presents AO Live will come to SEN for the Australian Grand Slam, which runs from January 14 to 27.

Coverage will be broadcast on 1116 SEN, SEN+, SEN 2 and the newly launches SEN SA.

SEN’s tennis calling team will include Anthony HudsonJack Heverin and Brett Phillips, while Phillips will also host Australian commercial radio’s only dedicated weekly tennis program The First Serve.

Also joining the team are former Aussie tennis stars Nicole Bradtke and Jelena Doki, as well as current player and record holder of the world’s fastest serve, Sam Groth.

During the Open, SEN2 will transform into a dedicated tennis channel for two weeks, covering every minute of play each day.

“We are thrilled to add the Australian Open to our summer sports line-up and, together with AO partner KIA, innovate across multiple channels,” said Crocmedia CEO and managing director Craig Hutchison.

“Tennis fans will be spoilt for choice across the SEN channels, and 1116 SEN will lob everything at making it the best covered Open on radio ever.

“The Australian Open is iconic, and fits perfectly into our whole of sport and live play by play agenda.

“And more broadly, nationally, Crocmedia will ensure its sports programs have the latest news, scores and stories as they happen.”
