News Corp pushes further into podcasts with new Vogue Australia offering, Baby Steps

Staff Writer

News Corp Australia’s NewsCast division is taking advantage of the company’s existing stable of brands, releasing a new title under the Vogue Australia banner.

Baby Steps is a podcast and fertility guide for anyone trying to conceive, and will unpack the myths and realities of baby-making and fertility with practical, no-nonsense advice, NewsCast said.

The eight-part series will cover visiting your GP, ovulation, IVF, egg freezing, miscarriage and loss, as well as interviews with obstetrics and fertility experts.

It will be hosted by the media brand’s senior beauty and health editor, Remy Rippon, and model and spokesperson, Jesinta Franklin.

Both women have a personal connection to the subject matter.

“I’m currently on the rollercoaster of trying to have a baby and have been with varying degrees of success for the past two and a half years. Hearing the stories of so many women around me I felt an overwhelming need to share the ups and downs of fertility,” Rippon said.

“Jesinta and I go on a journey with this podcast to learn everything there is to know about fertility and getting pregnant. We want this to be a guide for listeners, something we maybe didn’t have as a resource when we were trying to have a baby.

“From IVF and miscarriages to egg-freezing and contraception, Baby Steps tackles the fertility issues worth talking about, that aren’t talked about enough.”

Franklin added: “I am excited that this special project, Baby Steps that Remy and I have been working on has been released. After being through my own struggles it is a conversation that I feel passionate about and I really hope that this helps even one woman or couple through their journey.”

The podcast launch under the Vogue Australia brand follows News Corp’s Stellar magazine launching its first podcast, Something To Talk About With Samantha Armytage last week.
