Beau Ryan pops up on KIIS after disappearing from Macquarie Sports Radio

Former Assistant Editor

Former Wests Tigers star and Macquarie Media host Beau Ryan presented KIIS 106.5 Breakfast this morning alongside Jackie O, with Kyle Sandilands off sick.

Beau is the co-host of Macquarie Sports Radio’s inaugural Breakfast show for Sydney with veteran 2UE broadcaster John Stanley, but he has been conspicuously absent from the show this week.

Instead, former Dragons and Eels goal-kicking cult hero Mark Riddell joined the show yesterday and today as co-host.

Radio Today understands that Beau finished his short stint on Macquarie Sydney Breakfast last Friday, July 20, but Macquarie Media are yet to respond to a request for comment.

This morning Beau could be heard on the Kyle and Jackie O Show, presenting a shortened Breakfast show that kicked off at 7am.

He explained there’d been some last minute calls to get him on the show, while Jackie had thought there was going to be a ‘best-of’ show before they were able to secure Beau.

Macquarie’s controversial rebrand from Talking Lifestyle to Sports Radio this April has failed thus far to arrest its diving ratings.

In Survey #4 the network fell to 0.8% in Sydney (-1.1), to 0.3% in Melbourne (-0.1) for People 10+.

The only market where Macquarie Sports Radio is rating above one point is in Brisbane where it holds 1.1% (+0.6).
