Bec & Cosi confirmed for Hit107 Breakfast in 2019

Former Assistant Editor

Andrew ‘Cosi’ Costello and Rebecca Morse have officially been confirmed as the new hosts of Breakfast on Hit107 for 2019.

As Radio Today previous reported, Cosi and Bec were hotly tipped for the job for next year, after SCA announced that Amos, Cat and Angus would wrap up on September 30.

They’ll be joined by Triple M Adelaide’s Hayden ‘Haydo’ Naughton, who’ll anchor the show.

Cosi is no stranger to radio, having spent time at SAFM and Triple M, and is currently hosting Channel 9’s South Aussie With Cosi.

“I left the pig farm to join SAFM 18 years ago, and I fell in love with radio and its audience,” Cosi said.

“This radio station runs through my blood and the opportunity to return to Hit107 is like a dream come true. South Aussie with Cosi and my social media community mean the world to me and to be able to add the hit107 breakfast show to that stable is very exciting!

“Bec Morse is a gun,” he continued. “She’s funny, likeable and a great mum. The Hit107 role will allow SA to get to know the cheeky, fun side of one of our best newsreaders.

“I ask all South Aussies for their support and we look forward to creating a breakfast show like no other. Bring it on!”

Bec has presented Network Ten’s Adelaide bulletin TEN Eyewitness News First At Five for over a decade now. She also worked at SAFM in 2012 and grew up in Adelaide.

“I’m really excited to be joining Hit107 breakfast next year,” she said.

“I started my media career in radio and loved my stint at the station several years ago, so it will be like coming home.

“Cosi and I have a lot in common; we are both passionate and proud South Australians and laugh at our own jokes. As for working both ends of the day, there will be coffee and there will be chaos.”

“It’s with great excitement that we welcome both Bec and Cosi back to radio!” said Hit Network head of content Gemma Fordham.

“Together, they bring many years of experience and are truly passionate about Adelaide and Adelaideans.

“Having heard the show off air I can guarantee it’s a show people will love listening to – it’s fun, cheeky, relatable and really puts a smile on your face.

“The chemistry between Bec and Cosi is infectious and we look forward to the show starting in January.

Cosi and Bec’s new Adelaide Breakfast show will begin on January 21, 2019.

maybe a return back to SAFM would be a good idea too?

Shame they wrecked the Cat and Amos show… used to be one of the best new shows around. Then made all “commercial”. Good luck to them both.

Great to have Cosi back!!! Can’t wait.
I’m still in mourning for a certain WA guy who left recently.
This will ease my pain.

Smut radio is what i want driving my kids to school, not! Nothing but sexual innuendos, or sexual connotations come out or cosi’s mouth, even the shorts ive heard of them, nearly every one was about sex, either having sex, wanting sex, not getting sex, having sex with himself! He was foul years ago, nothings changed.

I am so keen to see -err, hear- Bec on the radio! I live for the times she throws shade at Nick or Kate during the news. You have to be quick to spot it, but it it always hilarious.

Possibly the worst decision you could make Hit107, trying to replace the always entertaining Amos, Cat and Angus with a bland, monotone newsreader and the most annoying South Aussie man around. Seriously the biggest downgrade and change of target audience. I would be surprised if anyone but boring middle aged mums tune in anymore. I assume your ratings have declined rapidly since the Bec and Cosi show begun. Bring back some youthful, witty and entertaining hosts and maybe I’ll start listening to Hit107 again.

I heard little Maddison on the radio yesterday
she sounded so empty, that beautiful positive strong girl was missing
It was mentioned some positive news for Maddie,a new school
Well today her mum heard there was a mistake and no vacancy existed
I truly fear for Maddisons mental health, this has been another blow for the victim
I have watched this family fall apart and it’s just heartbreaking to watch
I thank you both for bringing this story to the public and not forgetting this beautiful girl
