COVID forces Hit’s Bianca, Dan & Ben to cancel Easter Egg Hunt promotion

Staff Writer

Queensland’s COVID lockdowns have started to hit radio networks and their planned promotional activities, with the Gold Coast’s Bianca, Dan & Ben pulling the pin on Thursday’s Easter Egg Hunt.

The team said they were going to try and do something with the “truckload” of eggs that they had for the promotion, but told listeners today not to head out for the hunt this week.

Hit90.9 said it hopes listeners understand the decision.

“The safety of the Gold Coast community is paramount for Hit90.9, so holding a mass gathering during this time is just not feasible,” it said.

Today, Queensland reported eight new locally acquired COVID-19 cases in Greater Brisbane linked to two clusters.

Brisbane is now subject to a snap three-day lockdown, while the rest of Queensland has had restrictions increased. From 5pm yesterday, until 5pm Thursday, outdoor gatherings will be capped at 500 people in outdoor spaces in Queensland, excluding Brisbane where restrictions are tighter.
