Fifi, Fev & Byron farewell Byron Cooke with emotional tribute

Former Editor & Content Director

Fifi Box and Brendan Fevola have led an emotional farewell to anchor and co-host of Fox FM’s Breakfast show, Byron Cooke.

The tribute included an emotional Box talking about how much she will miss her co-host.

“You are our dear friend and we wish you all the best for the future. And as we keep saying, we’re still friends, it’s just the end of this era on the show, but it’s not the end of you,” she said.

Cooke will be replaced next year by comedian and current Triple M Brisbane Breakfast co-host, Nick Cody.

In his final moments, Cooke said he couldn’t say enough things about the show.

“This is one of the great shows. Five years with these incredible people on The Fox. Thank you. Fii, Fev & Byron for the last time. It’s going to be a brilliant show next year. Nick is a great bloke, Nick Cody, what a ledge. It’s going to be a fantastic show. Get around it, Fifi, Fev & Nick in 2021,” he said.

Cooke’s son also dialled in from New Orleans in the US, and the team played a pre-recorded message where he said he was “very proud” of his dad, and wished him luck with his new adventure.

Cooke launched his own podcast, The Byron Cooke Show, earlier this month, where he has guests on to tackle different sides of a divisive argument or issue.

In the most recent ratings survey, the Breakfast show had a slight bump in audience share, climbing 0.2 points to 5.0%.
