Carlton’s ‘On Air’ autobiography

Former radio presenter Mike Carlton is set to publish his autobiography, which could settle a few scores that have accumulated over a long career in journalism.

Now in the hands of the printers, Carlton has promised ‘names will be named’ and truths revealed in his memoir entitled On Air.

It’s not the first time Carlton has pulled on the author’s hat.  In 1997, he published a novel called Off The Air. While it was said to be a work of ‘fiction’, the book drew heavily on the life and times of the former 2UE breakfast show host.

In that book, the central character was called Bruce Braine, who shared many, many similarities with the author.

And there were sex scenes. How true to life they were remains to be seen. But there’s one line that’s had bloggers blogging and commentators commenting upon:

She was a kitten, until they made love, when kitten gave way to cat.”

All will be revealed (maybe) when the 537-page volume is released later this year.

When Carlton was hosting drive on 2UE, his ratings were poor.
