CBS buys global rights to Ed Kavalee & Sam Pang’s ‘Have You Been Paying Attention?’

Former Assistant Editor

CBS, the American owner of Network Ten, has snapped up the global rights to Working Dog-produced television show Have You Been Paying Attention?

The quiz show, hosted by the D Generation’s Tom Gleisner and starring fellow Working Dog members Ed Kavalee (2DayFM) and Sam Pang (Nova 100), is currently Ten’s third-highest rating show.

The format sees Gleisner ask a rolling roster of guests (usually including Kavalee and Pang) questions about the news of the week.

Regular guests include the likes of Jane Kennedy, Mick Molloy, Kate Langbroek, Dave Hughes, Marty Sheargold and Fifi Box.

HYBPA? joins CBS’ portfolio of the biggest formats on television; from Wheel of Fortune and America’s Next Top Model,” said CBS Studios International senior vice president of international formats. Paul Gilbert.

“This agreement is a terrific example of the new synergies we have in Australia since acquiring Network Ten, and we look forward to partnering with the team at Working Dog Productions to make HYBPA? a global success.”

“We are proud and delighted to bring the show we love to the rest of the world,” said Working Dog Productions executive producer Michael Hirsh.

“We’re grateful to CBS for the opportunity to share what has become the one Aussie show families bookmark to watch together every week.”

HYBPA? is Working Dog’s second show to be picked up globally, after Thank God You’re Here, which has been produced in 21 countries outside Australia including China, Estonia, Lithuania, Russia, Portugal, Turkey and Vietnam.
