Christian O’Connell makes cancer sufferer’s dream come true

Gold FM listener Peter Logan has always wanted to be a radio presenter.

Unfortunately Peter was diagnosed with terminal bowel cancer and realised it wouldn’t ever happen.

So on a whim, he wrote to Gold 104.3 Breakfast host Christian O’Connell to tell his story.

Christian was in no two minds about what he needed to do about the situation and surprised Peter on Monday with an offer he couldn’t refuse.

On Wednesday Christian welcomed Peter into the studio to host ‘The Peter Logan breakfast Show with Christian O’Connell’ from 8am-9am.

He was also joined by Peter’s wife and daughters, with the Gold team also making mugs and t-shirts to give Peter the full presenter experience.

Peter also used the opportunity to share an important message about getting tested for bowel cancer before it’s too late.
