Melbourne agency Clemenger BBDO has followed up its 2019 Gold Siren win with victory in Round 2 of the 2020 Siren Awards.

Their radio advertisement for mental health advocacy group Beyond Blue called ‘The Loop’ has been recognised for the single category and overall win.

The ad aims to help people recognise symptoms of anxiety, and understand ‘when anxiety is talking’, and was created by Carlo Mazzarella and Ray Ali.

“The radio ad highlights a major symptom of anxiety, which is snowballing worries, and brings to life how debilitating it can be if untreated,” said Mazzarella.

“The ad attempted to recreate the inner voice of anxiety, repeating a multiple number of worries a person might have, creating an endless stream of concerns that spiral out of control.”

Meantime SCA won the craft category for Eyes @ Australind ad ‘Irritated’ and DBB Melbournre’s Opera Australia commercial took out the campaign category.

“We would like to congratulate all of the Round 2 winners for their exceptional work in creative storytelling,” said CRA chief executive Joan Warner.

“These ads, along with those that were highly commended, show the extraordinary degree of talent within the Australian advertising industry and highlight the great impact of radio advertising.

The Siren Awards, run by CRA, are judged over five rounds and celebrates the best of radio advertising.

The 2020 Gold Siren winner will be announced in May 2020. Round 2 of the 2020 Siren Awards is now open. Entries close 6 July 2019.
