DAB+ Radio Ratings: KIIS 90s surges, but can’t catch Coles Radio

Staff Writer

Coles Radio racks up another #1 national position in the latest DAB+ Digital survey, despite sold growth from ARN’s recently rebranded 90s stations.

Formerly iHeartRadio 90s, the network of digital stations has been rebranded to reflect the ARN station in each city, and has risen to 211,000 cume listeners. It’s second only to Coles Radio, which holds 233,000 sets of ears across the country.

Looking at each market in isolation, Sydney-exclusive station The Edge Digital is the clear market leader, with 123,000 cume listeners (+9,000), easily ahead of ABC Jazz in second with 71,000 (-98,000).

Melbourne is still a haven for Coles Radio where it reigns supreme on 85,000 listeners.

ARN’s 90s stations are top in Brisbane, 97.3FM The 90s is #1 on 37,000 listeners, as well as Adelaide where Mix 90s has a cume of  23,000.

Meanwhile, Nova is onto a good thing with its smooth digital station in Perth. The station catches 23,000 listeners, the most in the city, and a potential sign that smooth could expand into other markets outside of Sydney and Brisbane at a DAB+ level.

Look at some of the numbers on those Triple M Digital stations. Why even bother.
Pretty pathetic really, SCA getting their arses whipped on analogue and digital.
