Dane Swan to join Jase & PJ on Mondays

Staff Writer

Retired AFL star Dane Swan will regularly appear on Melbourne’s Jase & PJ show on KIIS 101.1 this year.

‘Swanny’s’ first shift was this morning, and he said it’s a great opportunity to make the show “more intellectual and smarter”.

“I can’t wait to get started. I love to tell a story – I’ve got a fair few to share,” he added.

Last year when appearing on the program, Swan unexpectedly revealed that he and his partner were expecting their first child. Jase Hawkins flagged more moments like this could be around the corner.

“You never quite know what Dane will deliver and he’s everything I want to be…. quick-witted, calm and good-looking. I’m hoping this will rub off on me the more time I spend with him,” he said.

Polly ‘PJ’ Harding added: “He’s as Melbourne as they come; easy-going, quick-witted and one of those people that brings a bit of spice to the footy scene.”

ARN’s chief content officer Duncan Campbell said Swan’s addition would elevate the Jase & PJ program.

“Dane will be a terrific addition to Jase & PJ in the Morning. His AFL knowledge and insights combined with that unique sense of humour of his and his laid-back style means he’s a perfect fit for the show and will create even more engaging local content for KIIS 101.1 Breakfast listeners.”

Campbell has previously flagged his ongoing disappointment with the show’s ratings, despite backing its lineup and content. In the last ratings of 2020, the show had a 5.4% share in Breakfast, up from 4.7%.
